Carolyn Wells

Carolyn Louise Wells was born in Billings to LeRoy Wells and Marian Cahill Wells. When she was a very small child her mother died.  Her father then married Freida S Guenthner who  helped raise Carolyn.  Frieda was the only mother in Carolyn's memory. Carolyn grew up in Billings and attended Washington Elementary, Lewis and Clark, Bikllings Senior and Eastern Montana College.  She then went to Concordia College in Moorhead and then went on to get her Masters Degree in Library Science to become a librarien.  Her career took her to California and Virginia and then to Glasgow MT until she retired and moved back to Billings to take care of Frieda.  Carolyn had no siblings or children of her own.  She leaves behind many special friends who were like sisters to her, aunts, uncles, and cousins.  Carolyn loved to read and spent many hours each day doing so.  She liked to knit and sometimes made hats and mittens for children in nedd.  She had an addiction to buying material to make Relief QAuilts.  She would have had to live many more lifetimes to sew up all the quilting material she had,.  Wen she became unable to sew she gave up all the quilting material to three Lutheran churches to finish what she had to do herself.  Carolyn loved music and enjoyed going to the Billings Symphony up until her health prevented her from attending.  She was the organist for St. John's Lutheran Church (in Laurel) for many years and wished any memorials be shent there (417 W 9th Street Laurel MT 59044).Carolyn passed away January 14, 2023 in Billings.
