JAMES HENRY "JIM" BECKER

   Jim, Jimmie or Jimmer, died in the company of his loving family on Monday, October 5, 2020 at the age of  72.  He endured a 26 year battle with Parkinson's Disease.

   Jim was born Mrch 1, 1948 in Billings to Leah and Henry Becker.  He was the youngest of three children and a brother to Carol and Gary.

   After graduating from Billings Senior in 1966, Jim joined the Navy.  Over a four year tour, he would ascend to the rank of IC-2 (Interior Communications Electrician), Petty Officer 2nd Class (E-5) as a submariner aboard the USS Seapoacher.  It was here he learned his trade as an electrican.  He thoroughly enjoyed the friendships he forged and was proud of the time spent serving his country.

  Following his separation from the Navy, Jim returned to Billings to eventually work as an electrician for Yellowstone Electric Comany.  He would become a fixture at St. Vinent's Hospital where he spent nearly every working day for twenty years.  Jim reveled in his work and the relationships he build over his 32 year career.

   Jim married Norma Johnson on July 15, 1972.  They raised two children DJ and Jocelyn.  Jim was an adoring husband and father, his life centered around his family.  Whether he was coaching baseball or softball, traveling near and far to watch his kids' sporting or school activities, heldping with school projects or honey-do lists, Jim always did so because he loved his family.

   Jim had a passion for restoring vintage cares, metal and wood working and sand blasting glass.  He loved to hunt, fish and camp in the Montana wilderness with his family.  He was an avid sports fan, a dog lover and member of the Goggles and Dusters Car Club and Magic City Model A's.  Jim was renowned for his willingness to help anyone in need at as moment's notice.  He was remarkably  creative, kind and compassionate, loved to laugh and known by many for his wily grin.

   Jim is survived by his wife Nprma, his son DJ and wife Isabella and their children Finley, Rowasn, and Lleyton, his daughter Jocelyn and husband Rick and their son Maddex. hs sister Carol and brother Gary and their families, and numerous extended family.

   We would like to extend a special thank you to Edgewood Memory Cre in the Heights and Stillwater Hospice for all of their loving care over the past few years.

  The funeral will be held at Pilgrim Congregational Church on Tuesday, October 13 followed by his burial at Yellowstone National Cemetery in Laurel.  Condolences for the family may be shared at www.smithfuneralchapels.com.
