Robert (Bob) Eugene Dill, age 71, died Thursday, December 26, 2019 at his home in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born May 14, 1948 in Billings, Montana to James Renwick and Mary Anita Magnani Dill.

Bob grew up in Billings, Montana. As a child he enjoyed Little League baseball and hunting. In high school he wrestled and enjoyed playing the guitar. He was a manager of a drive-in movie theater. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed fixing his and his friends' cars. He served in the US Marines Reserve with his basic training in San Diego, California. There he learned to scuba dive.

Bob moved from Billings to Las Vegas with his young family in 1979 to work year round as a heavy equipment operator, specifically paving. He retired from Southern Nevada Paving in 2013 after 32 years in the industry. Bob had a love for Hot Rod cars, restoring them, watching car shows on television, and attending shows when they came to Las Vegas. He mostly loved spending time with his family. He loved hosting pool parties and holidays at his home.

Bob is survived by his companion, Patricia Butts of Las Vegas, NV; two sons and one daughter: Cameron of Yellowstone Park, WY; Cori (Blades) White of San Tan Valley, AZ; Michael (Juanita) of N. Las Vegas, NV; eight grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Jane Kelly of Billings, MT and Sandi (Don) Glaser of Arvada, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Don Haider, brother Tom, and granddaughter Kyndal.

(The following was posted to the Tribute Wall of Bob's online obit. I think it captures well the essence of the Bob we knew.)

Buffalo Bob, we called him in jest,
a friend for many years,
and one of the best.
The Lord called him home,
just the other night ....
his highway was paved, and rolled up tight.
When we all get together in life’s other side
we’re sure to come find you .....
you’re too big to hide.
He’s a gentle giant, he rarely was mad
It would take hours to tell of the good times we had...
If each one on earth were as peaceful as Bob,
Policemen and soldiers would have no job.
We’ll miss you Big Bob, your job here is done
You lived a great life ...
full of hard work and fun.

Bob was a wonderful guy.  We were friends in high school but lost touch after that.  The poem says it all.  I made many trips to Las Vegas during my Broadcast career.  I wish I had known he was there and we could have made contact.
