Preston "Perry" Lyles, 66, of Billings, passed from complications due to cancer on Sunday, March 9, 2014.

Perry was born on Oct. 4, 1947. He was born and raised in Billings, where he was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He graduated from Billings Senior High School in 1966 where he was the Halfback of the Year and a two year State Wrestling Champion in 1965 and 1966.

Perry was a custom home builder, using his gifted carpentry skills in Washington State and Arizona to return later to reside in Billings.

Perry is remembered for his love of his family, helping others, his sense of humor, cooking and his artistic work. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him. We celebrate and honor the life he has lived. From all of us who knew him, "Thanks for the memories."

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Laverne Lyles; and his sister Alison Bodewig.

Perry is survived by sisters, Maude Magruder, Tracy Lyles; two brothers, Roy Lyles Jr, Phillip Lyles; and children, Preston (Annette) Lyles of Billings, Lisa (Rob) Guy of Peoria, Ariz., Michael (Marsha) Lyles of Kalispell. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Preston, Kelsey, Michael, Jessica, Madison, Courtney; and other family members.

Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, at Cremation & Funeral Gallery 29 8th St. W, Billings. Following the service we will have a luncheon at Knights of Columbus.

The family would like to thank St. Vincent Hospital, Frontier Cancer Center and Riverstone Hospice Home.
