Scott Clyde Magruder was born in Billings, MT, on May 11, 1948, the first child of Curt Magruder and Ruth (Caldwell) Magruder. He died June 19, 2026 at St. Vincent's Hospital.
He spent his childhood attending school in Billings and graduated from Billings Senior High School in 1966. He later attended automotive training school and for the rest of his life was quite handy with motors and engines. He trained on the job for his lifetime profession of welder. His hero was his dad Curt who he spent many hours hunting and fishing with. Scott could spin a yarn and usually told stories of things he and his dad did together. Surprisingly he met his soulmate Donna Juhl when the two were only five years old and went to Sunday School together. They finally got together more than fifty years later and were married nearly 20 years before he died. Scott often chose difficult paths in midlife. However, when he died, he had more than 26 years clean and sober; he was immensely proud of that accomplishment.
Scott suffered a life-changing stroke July 20, 2025, which was the major cause of his demise. Thankfully that pain and blindness are gone now and he is whole.
Scott leaves behind his wife Donna, his niece Jessica and her son Everson and her mother Sandy, Donna’s family, best friend Mike Brown, wonderful neighbors, and friends from an entire life. His favorite dog Nikita died shortly before Scott. He leaves a giant void in the lives of those who love him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Randy, and many friends and relatives.
According to his wishes no services will be held. Nevertheless, a get-together is planned later this summer.
