Ernie Matson

Ernest (Ernie) Matson was Born December 17, 1946, along with his twin brothr Edwin (Ed) , in Billings, Montana  His parents were Melvin Matson, Sr and Ella Barrows.  Ernie died on August 8, 2021 in Edgewood WA  surrounded by his loving family.  Ernie was married for thirty years to Debra, who survives him.  Aslo surviving Ermie are his children Scott Wohler, Todd Bauer, Angela Matson, Michael Matson, Jacob Matson, his 17 grandchildren as well as numerus cousins, nieces, nepheews and his dog Louie.  In addition. his brother Gerald survives him.  Ernie had predeased his brothers Matt, Don and Ed, Marshall, and Melvin, Jr.

Ern worked for the Carpenters of Western WA Local 30 where he was able to work on the skyline buildings in Seattle.  He drove large trucks for Consolidated Freightwasy Local 313 in Fife until the businss closed.  Ern loved to be around his family conencting with his grandchildren over jokes and pranks.  He was a big Seahawks fan, never missed watching a game.  He enjoyed old classic cars, woodworking, and drawing.  His favorite activity was creating Native American tribal art and he received awards and praise for his artwork.  Ern was very much into his church, atteded regularly, and was part of the mens group where he made strong connections with fellow members.  Ern's presence and humourous sprirt will be missed.  His memorial was held on Saturday, September 4th at 12:30 at LifeSpring FourSquare Church in Federal Way WA.
