Jerry Fry

Jerry Fry

Jerald William Fry was born January 8, 1947 to Bill and Bernice Fry.  He died on December 11 of a cardiac arrest at his home in Billings After Jerry graduated with Billings Senior Class of '66 he went to work for the City of Billings Street Department.  He endured many hardships as a result of his handicaps.  After the death of his father, he lived at home with his mother, giving her needed support, transportation and care until her death at 97 years old in 2013.

Jerry was a man of few material possessions but loved to be useful.  He liked to make people laugh and loved to tease, too.  He kept us all in touch with each other.  He called us whenever there was any new news and even when it wasn't new.  He called anyone and everyone just to keep in touch.  Cousins we hadn't heard from for years got phone calls.  He couldn't undershand why we didn't make time for each other.

Jerry was quite the statistician.  He kept meticulous records of sporting events all over the state and country and collected tournament programs and player cards.  He knew the scores of games and carefully charted statstics of players.  Baseball was his favorite.  He followed Bob's baseball career and his brother-in-law's coaching career closely and was a long-time Billings Mustangs season ticket holder.  He could talk sports to anyone.

At the end of Jerry's life he found a place that reallly became where he was the happiest he had been for many years.  The people and staff at Prairie Towers were so good to him in spite of the problems that followed him him there.  It was comforting for his family to see him belong there.  He created a core of friends to be commended for their care for Jerry.

Jerry is survived by his daughter Keri Fox of Las Vegas NV; brother Robert (Denyce); sister Colleen (Ed) Kriskovich; nephews Kevin, Craig and Chad Kriskovich; neices Christie Mac Donald, Kelly Hogan, Rainey Schmeideke and Daisy Fry.

A memorial service will be held at Prairie Towers Apartments on January 8, 2023 at 2 pm.  For a full obituary visit www,dahlbrownfuneralchapel.com.

William (Bill) Dana

Jerry Fry was a super nice guy, very unassuming and modest.  I remember in gym class he was like Atlas Man.  One time he did continuous pushups and impressed the whole class.  Sorry I'm not closer to Billings to attend the service.
